Exeter

Exeter is a small town north of Launceston, located in the centre of a large rural area known for its orchards, dairy and beef cattle, fruit produce and sheep. It's also at the centre of the Tamar Valley Wine Route.  As the state's premier food and wine location, the Tamar Valley is home to some of Australia's best Sparkling, zesty Rieslings, superb cool-climate Chardonnays and complex Pinot Noirs. The Tamar Valley Wine Route encourages you to taste premium local fare at one of the many cellar doors.

Nearby is Brady's Lookout on the West Tamar Highway. The lookout was used by the infamous bushranger Matthew Brady to identify potential victims below and offers great views of the surrounding country side.

Exeter is just a 25 minute drive from Launceston.
